Overview

The CASA Pre-Made Shower Base is a floor-level, barrier-free panel built for waterproofing and tiling in modern wet rooms and compact showers. Lightweight yet tough, it’s made from XPS (extruded polystyrene) with reinforced cement-coated faces, or in solid polymer concrete depending on spec.

Key Features

  • Built-in 2% fall—no extra grading needed
  • XPS core with dual-sided fibreglass mesh for strength and stability
  • Lightweight and easy to cut on-site—fits custom or irregular layouts
  • Compatible with most tile adhesives and waterproofing membranes
  • Impact-resistant and solid under load
  • Suitable for floor-level (curbless) showers and wet rooms

Use it when you're working with:

  • Wet rooms and floor-level shower areas
  • Ensuite or small-space bathrooms
  • Barrier-free / accessible bathrooms
  • Renovations where floor height is limited
  • Custom shower layouts requiring trimming or shaping

How to Use (Mixing & Application)

Base Installation

Surface Requirements: Must be installed over a fully supported, structured floor
Steps:

  • Ensure substrate is level and clean
  • Fix the shower base using approved adhesive
  • Waterproof over the surface before tiling

Tip: Trim to fit with a handsaw or blade—works for circular or angled cuts too.

  • Concrete slabs
  • Timber floors (sheeted and supported)
  • Existing waterproof membranes (check compatibility)
  • Suitable for tiled finishes using most adhesives

Cement-faced board with integrated slope; lightweight XPS core or solid polymer construction

Pro Tip

Always check waste outlet alignment before final fixing. CASA bases are easy to trim for off-centre or custom drain setups—just mark, cut, and seal.

1. What is the fall on the CASA shower base?
Each base has a pre-formed slope of at least 2% to ensure water drains efficiently toward the outlet.

2. Can I cut the base to fit a custom shower layout?
Yes. The CASA base can be trimmed with a handsaw or utility blade to suit angled, curved, or tight spaces.

3. Is it suitable for use over timber floors?
Yes, as long as the timber floor is fully supported and structurally sound. Use an appropriate adhesive and follow waterproofing best practices.

4. What type of waterproofing should I use over it?
The base is compatible with most cementitious or sheet membrane waterproofing systems. Always check compatibility with your chosen system.

5. Can I use this in accessible or barrier-free showers?
Absolutely. The low-profile design makes it ideal for floor-level installs in accessible or step-free bathrooms.
