Yes, primers are required. Use a porous-surface primer on absorbent substrates and a non-porous primer on existing finishes. Follow the product data sheet for selection, dilution and drying times.
Tile-over and walk-on times depend on product, thickness, temperature and ventilation. Always follow the product data sheet. Allow longer in cool or humid conditions.
Yes, select the correct system components and follow heating and cooling cycles recommended for the screed or leveller and the adhesive. Movement joints must follow the designer’s layout. Heated floors are a risk item, escalate to Technical for confirmation.
Exterior screeds, balconies and decks are higher risk and require specific design for falls, drainage and movement joints. Please escalate to the Surtec Technical Team for a project-specific recommendation before proceeding.
