Technokolla NZ supplies Techno Monokronos, a pre-mixed, quick-drying floor screed designed for straightforward and reliable substrate preparation. Unlike site-batched systems that require separate aggregate sourcing and blending, Monokronos arrives ready to combine with water alone, reducing on-site labour and eliminating the risk of inconsistent mix ratios.

The controlled-shrinkage formula produces a dimensionally stable screed in thicknesses from 3 to 6 cm, suited to both indoor and outdoor applications in residential, civil, and industrial settings. No fluidising substances are required, keeping the process clean and predictable. Once cured, it provides a solid, level base ready to accept a wide range of floor coverings.

  • Pre-mixed formula - add water only, no site-batching of aggregate required
  • Quick-drying with controlled shrinkage for a dimensionally stable result
  • No fluidising additives needed
  • Suitable for indoor and outdoor applications in residential, civil, and industrial settings
  • Grey-coloured granular product

Techno Monokronos is suitable for:

  • Screeds from 3 to 6 cm thick in residential, civil, and industrial buildings
  • Substrates to be covered with ceramic tiles, parquet, resilient materials, and natural stone
  • Heating screeds, with radiating coils buried within the screed layer

1. How do I get the water ratio right when mixing?
The mix needs to be pliable and workable, not too dry or too wet. Too little water weakens the finished screed, while too much increases shrinkage and can make it unreliable to tile over later. It's worth following the exact ratio on the data sheet rather than judging by eye alone.

2. What equipment do I need to mix and lay it?
It can be mixed in a standard concrete mixer, a screw mixer, or a continuous blending machine, and should be blended for no more than 4 minutes, don't leave it turning in the mixer longer than needed.

3. Do I need to leave gaps or edging around the room when laying the screed?
Yes. Compressible material should be placed around the perimeter walls and any pillars to allow for natural movement as the screed cures, rather than pouring it edge to edge.

4. Does it need a primer before or after laying?
After the screed has cured, prime it before installing a waterproofing membrane or certain floor coverings, using a porous or non-porous primer depending on the surface. Check the current data sheet for the right primer and drying time for your application.

5. Is it suitable for outdoor use, or indoor only?
It's suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications in residential, civil, and industrial settings, provided it's installed within the recommended thickness range.
