Keep silica dust under control at the source. SURTEC Dust Shrouds channel dust and debris away from the cut or grind zone and into your vacuum so you can see your line, keep the site cleaner, and work safer. Connect to a suitable extractor and you’re good to go.
Purpose-built for wall chasing and straight, controlled cuts in concrete, masonry, tile, and similar materials. The shroud forms a partial enclosure around your blade and pulls dust away as you cut, improving visibility and reducing airborne dust around the operator. Pair with a compliant vacuum for best results.
Best for
Chase cuts for conduit and pipes
Expansion cuts and trimming
Edge work where line-of-sight matters
Why tradies like it
Cleaner, clearer cutting with dust pulled off the blade area
Less sweep-up and rework from dust resettling
Helps you work toward site dust control requirements when used with an appropriate extractor (M-Class or better recommended).
Designed for general surface grinding and prep—think glue, paint, and laitance removal on concrete/substrates. The shroud encloses the grinding cup area and channels dust straight into your vac as you move, helping maintain visibility and keeping fines out of your breathing zone.
Best for
Concrete surface prep before membranes or adhesives
Levelling high spots and feathering edges
Coating, paint, and adhesive removal
Why tradies like it
Captures dust at the point of generation to keep the pad cutting cleanly
Reduces airborne silica exposure versus open grinding when paired with a suitable extractor
Faster, tidier pack-down at the end of the day.
Tool compatibility: Use on common angle-grinder cutting or grinding applications; ensure your guard/shroud is correctly installed and secure before use. (Most dust shrouds work by enclosing the working end and directing dust into a vacuum airflow.)
Extraction: For concrete/silica work, use a vac designed for construction dust control; many suppliers recommend at least M-Class filtration for silica-bearing dust.
Discs & cups: Match the shroud type to the task—cutting blade with the Cutting shroud; grinding cup/wheel with the Grinding shroud.
Capturing dust right where it’s generated drastically reduces what escapes into the workspace, onto equipment, and into the operator’s breathing zone—key for productivity, visibility, and safety on concrete and masonry jobs
